Six years after working with director Ben Brewer on the crime thriller The Belief, Nicolas Cage – who’s each the star of Nationwide Treasure and a nationwide treasure himself – has signed on to re-team with Brewer on the survival thriller Sand and Stones. Filming is ready to start in November in Dublin, Eire.
Scripted by Michael Nilon (Braven), Sand and Stones has the next synopsis:
Sooner or later, in a sparsely populated world, regular life has been decimated. Paul (Cage) and his twin teenage sons, Thomas and Joseph, have managed to claw out an existence of their distant farmhouse, but they stay in fixed worry. When the solar units, ferocious creatures of the evening awaken to hunt and eat all dwelling souls of their path. And when Thomas makes one small mistake, the nocturnal creatures acquire the higher hand and are available for them. In a race towards time, Paul, Thomas and Joseph should execute a determined plan for survival.
Cage is producing the movie via his firm Saturn Movies, alongside Nilon, Braxton Pope, David Wulf of Redline Leisure, and Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier of Highland Movie Group. Aperture’s Slava Vladimirov, Jared Underwood, and Andrew Robinson function govt producers. Highland Movie Group is co-financing the venture and dealing with the world rights.
