After making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Black Widow, David Harbour is about to reprise his position of Purple Guardian for the upcoming Thunderbolts film, and he couldn’t be extra excited.
“I actually like him,” stated David Harbour of his character to Total Film, “and I like Florence [Pugh] as Yelena [also in Thunderbolts]. And then you definately throw in Wyatt [Russell, as U.S. Agent] from Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Sebastian [Stan, reprising Bucky Barnes]. You’ve gotten all these nice, colourful characters. I’m actually excited for that film.” Because the MCU appears to be like to maintain on trucking for the foreseeable future, Harbour is keen to maintain enjoying Purple Guardian for so long as they’ll let him. “I like Purple Guardian,” Harbour stated. “I can’t wait to drag again the layers. The beauty of him is that he’s not very well-defined within the comics, like a few of the different Marvel superheroes. So we will play with him otherwise, and be stunning and sudden.“
The primary solid of the Thunderbolts film was introduced at D23, and along with David Harbour returning as Purple Guardian, the film will even function Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Hannah John Kamen as Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Harrison Ford will even seem as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, with the actor taking on the position performed by the late William Harm.
