‘Aftersun’ Leads British Unbiased Movie Awards Craft Winners – Deadline

Scottish filmmaker Charlotte Wells’s debut characteristic Aftersun has bagged three awards within the British Unbiased Movie Awards (BIFA) craft classes, the 12 months’s most wins.
Aftersun’s wins embody Greatest Cinematography, Greatest Modifying, and Greatest Music Supervision. The latter is a brand new class launched this 12 months.
The Cannes breakout additionally leads total nominations for this 12 months’s British Unbiased Movie Awards with a sweeping 16 nods, together with Greatest Director and Greatest movie.
The Greatest Casting award was picked up by Shaheen Baig for Blue Jean. The soulful social drama about homophobia in Thatcherite Britain has 13 nominations.
Elsewhere, Oliver Hermanus’ Residing, a Kazuo Ishiguro-penned replace of Kurosawa’s Ikiru, was awarded Greatest Manufacturing Design for Helen Scott. Sebastián Lelio’s The Surprise picked up the Greatest Unique Music gong, Greatest Costume Design went to Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, Greatest Results for Alex Garland’s Males, and Greatest Make-Up & Hair Design for Medusa Deluxe.
Peter Strickland rounds out the craft winners with Greatest Sound for Flux Connoisseur.
The winners in all remaining classes will probably be introduced on the twenty fifth BIFA ceremony on Sunday 4th December, at Outdated Billingsgate.
